How did you come to be in the industry you are in? What is your background?
I studied illustration in Uni and got a tattoo apprenticeship when I graduated. I worked in a studio for a year and heard about The Secret Warehouse and came to view a room and I fell in love, and I haven’t left since.
How would you like your clients / customers to describe your business?
My studio is laid back and professional. I have become good friends with a lot of my clients, and I try to make my clients feel as at ease and comfortable as possible.
How does your business align with the values and ethos of the Secret Warehouse?
Getting a tattoo can be very nerve wracking and I know my customers really appreciate the positive affirmations they hear as they enter the building. I’m a massive believer in the power of positive thinking and it’s something I always preach to my clients. I want them to leave my studio feeling like they can achieve anything and sitting through a painful tattoo can really make you feel strong and confident, and I love that aspect of my job. Always spreading the love and making people feel good.
How has being a part of the Warehouse community benefitted your business?
The atmosphere of the warehouse is amazing and even though I’m a bit of a hermit and don’t leave my room much, I know if I ever have a problem or need help with anything that I have a group of people that are willing to help and have my back. Everyone looks out for each other, and it feels like a little family.
If you could give one piece of advice to anyone who wants to start their own business what would it be?
My advice to anyone wanting to start a business is to not let the fear of failure stop you from doing it! Don’t let anybody’s negative opinions effect your goals, if it’s what you want to do then don’t let anybody stop you. With time and dedication, we can really achieve anything we put our minds to.
