What is the nature of your business / what services do you offer?
Hairdresser who specialises in all aspects of colouring and extensions.
How did you come to be in the industry you are in? What is your background?
Once my daughter went to school, I decided to go down the path of hairdressing and started college to get the qualifications. Once I had done my training, I carried on working in the salon, where I also did an extensions course which I really enjoyed. I was in the salon for six years before I decided to go self-employed. I had been in The Secret Warehouse before and really liked the building. I enquired about a room, and one had just become available. It was the perfect sized room, spacious, and I love it.
How would you like your clients / customers to describe your business?
Amazing at my job, offer good advice for what styles and colours that suit people.
What has been your greatest achievement to date?
Having the courage to leave my old salon and take the leap to go self-employed and be successful within my own business.
How does your business align with the values and ethos of the Secret Warehouse?
I believe everything happens for a reason. I am a very positive person, and this reflects within my business and clients too.
How has being a part of the Warehouse community benefitted your business?
Being surrounded by other positive people. I am lucky to have the support of the other hairdressers when I need stock or help.
If you could give one piece of advice to anyone who wants to start their own business what would it be?
Be organised in what you do. Don’t be afraid to take a chance. Just go for it as long as you’re doing what you love.
